History of the Society of Young Scientists

The Society of Young Scientists was founded in 1973. In the same year, the first conference of young scientists in the Western regions of Ukraine on biological sciences was held. The Council included young employees under the age of 35, who performed scientific work and participated in the public life of the institute. The first chairman of the council (1973-1975) was V. V. Faifura - now a doctor of medical sciences, professor. The purpose of the Council was to organize a solid platform for the development of young science at the institute. Since then, the Council of Young Scientists promotes the organization of scientific activities of young scientists, is the organizer and a participant in a variety of scientific gatherings conducted on the basis of our university .... more

From 1975 to 1976 the council was headed by Yu.P. Kuzmych, and from 1976 to 1984 - M.F. Kornelyshyn. During these years, young scientists of the institute took an active part in the work of the People's University "Zdorovia" and the society "Znannia". In 1984-1990, the council of young scientists was headed by S. N. Vadziuk - now a doctor of medical sciences, professor. During this period, competitions were regularly held for the best young scientist in research work, the best printed work, the best young inventor and innovator, the best young leader of a student research group.

From 1990 to 1998, the council of young scientists was headed by A. A. Hudyma - now a doctor of medical sciences, professor. It was under his chairmanship in 1997 that the International Medical Congress of Students and Young Scientists was organized and held for the first time. From 1998 to 2005 the chairman of the council of young scientists was V. D. Voloshyn , from 2005 to 2011 - S. Y. Hrytsenko , from 2011 to 2015 - L. P. Mazur - currently candidates of medical sciences, associate professors.

From 2015 to 2019, the Council of Young Scientists was headed by Assistant S. V. Kucher (Lototska) . Since 2019, the chairman of the council is A.I. Dub .

Continuing the traditions of their predecessors, young scientists are held annually with international medical congresses of students and young scientists, constantly increasing the number of their participants and publish collections of scientific works of young scientists by materials of congresses.

The main directions of activity are: organization of round tables; coordination of the development of youth science at the university; establishment of youth scientific ties between higher educational institutions; participation of young scientists in all-Ukrainian and international scientific forums; organization of meetings of young scientists and students with leading scholars; systematic informing of young scientists about scientific events held at the university or beyond (conference, congresses, congresses, seminars, symposiums, etc.); Discussion of candidates for academic scholarships and prizes for young scientists.

Young scientists of our university for many years are members of the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Health of Ukraine - in 2008-2013 - S. Y. Hrytsenko, 2013-2015 - T. A. Kovalchuk, and from 2015 for the present time - S. V. Kucher (Lototska).

The Society of Young Scientists of TNMU promotes to increase the scientific and professional level of young scientists, as well as coordinating their activities aimed at the development of scientific initiatives and consolidating young personnel at the university. It has become an inseparable and effective participant in the implementation of a program of scientific research, the subject of ensuring a high scientific image of the university, the focus of the growth of future doctors of sciences. The key to its successful functioning is a thorough support from the university leadership.
